From New York City

By Car

By Bus
The C&J Bus leaves from the Port Authority Bus Terminal and arrives at the Portsmouth Transportation Center. From there you can reach the Wentworth by taxi or Uber.

By Train
The nearest Amtrak station to Portsmouth is in Durham, NH. Take the Northeast Regional or Acela from Penn Station to Boston’s Back Bay Station. Then, head to Boston’s North Station, where you will transfer to the Downeaster service to Durham. From Durham you can reach Portsmouth and the Wentworth by car, taxi, or Uber.

Explore the New Hampshire Seacoast
Downtown Portsmouth: There’s tons to do in Portsmouth, from shopping and brewery hopping to historical tours and seafront lounging.
Strawbery Banke Museum:  Tour historic houses on their original sites, meet costumed historical re-enactors, watch traditional craft demonstrations, and visit historical gardens and landscapes.
Isles of Shoals Tour: Tour the seacoast by boat, learn about Portsmouth Harbor and the small islands and tidal ledges that make up the Isle of Shoals.
Granite State Whale Watch: Leaves from Rye, NH (10 min from Portsmouth) and goes to Jeffreys Ledge, where marine life includes Humpback Whales, Finback Whales, Minke Whales, and Atlantic White-sided Dolphins.
Kayaking and Paddle Boarding: Rent a kayak or paddle board from Seven Rivers Paddling and take it out on Portsmouth’s Sagamore Creek.
Boating and fishing: Leisure charters and fishing excursions are available to book through the Wentworth’s marina.
